Healthy CommunityWhat Is Healthy Community ? Healthy Community is a program offered by CVMC's Community Health Education and Outreach Department. This initiative is presented by CVMC to promote good nutrition, physical activity, and healthy lifestyle choices for Vermont adults, children, families and communities. As a Medical Center, CVMC realizes its responsibility to not only address health problems as they occur, but to play an active role in preventing health problems before they happen.
What We Offer:
- The Healthy Community program is a series of health-related workshops and presentations for the community, many of them at no cost, and offered by health professionals Click here for latest listing
- The Health Education & Resource Center located in the hospital's lower lobby is much like a free public library dedicated to health information. Materials available include brochures, books, videos, audio cassettes, and CD's. There is also a computer available for health education/research purposes only. Users are asked to be considerate of others who might be waiting for access
- The Breast Care Program * in partnership with our Care Management Department, provides education, support and referrals, as well as free screening mammograms for women who have no health insurance or whose insurance carries a high deductible. *funded by the Susan G. Komen grant.
- Other collaborative programs. We collaborate with other community organizations in projects and events geared toward improving the health and wellbeing of central Vermonters.
