March 22, 2007 Berlin, Vt – The Rehabilitation Services Department of Central Vermont Medical Center is moving this weekend (March 10 - 11) from the main campus into new, more spacious quarters in the former Harry’s Building on the Barre-Montpelier Road (Route 302), next to the Vermont Lottery. The new offices will be open on Monday, March 12, 2007. There is plenty of free parking adjacent to the building.
The formerly empty space in the old Harry’s building was renovated specifically to meet the standards for a twenty-first century rehabilitation services practice. The new facility has larger treatment rooms and gym space with state of the art rehab technology available. The phone number remains the same for this new main office at 371-4242 and the fax number is 371-5350.
The CVMC Rehabilitation Department continues to offer a wide range of services across the Central Vermont community. These include: Arthritis Rehabilitation; Aquatics; Balance and Gait/Vestibular Program; Burn Rehabilitation Program; Cognitive Rehabilitation Program; Facial Pain/Temporal Mandibular joint (TMJ) Program; Geriatric Rehabilitation Program; Hand Therapy Treatment Program; Industrial Rehabilitation/Occupational Medicine Program; Lymphedema Specialty Program; Manual Therapy; Muscle Energy; General Occupational Therapy; Orthotics; Pediatric Rehabilitation Treatment Program; Postural Restoration; General Physical Therapy; Speech and Language Pathology; Spinal Rehabilitation Program; Sports Therapy Treatment Program; Video fluoroscopy Swallowing Function Studies; and the Women's Physical Therapy Program.
CVMC employs the following professionals in Rehabilitation Services: Physical Therapists (PT); Occupational Therapists (OT); Speech-Language Pathologists (SLP); Physical Therapy Assistants (PTA); and Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTA). Aquatic Therapy continues to be available off-site.
CVMC also has satellite offices at the new Barre Health Center, Waterbury Medical Associates and the Montpelier Health Center.
A patient can be referred for therapy services by a physician, nurse practitioner or physician's assistant via phone, fax or mail. A written referral is required for initiation of services. Patients can call with any questions regarding care. Click here to see map to new location
