Maureen Bertrand, RN has been appointed Administrator of the Woodridge Nursing Home at Central Vermont Medical Center. She was most recently Executive Director of the Converse Home in Burlington. “We are really lucky that we were able to lure Maureen, a successful and experienced administrator, back to Central Vermont,” said Richard Morley, CVMC’s vice president of operations and former administrator at Woodridge. “She has a wealth of experience in long term care.” Maureen who is a registered nurse, also has Bachelor’s Degree in Health Care Administration from St. Joseph’s College of Maine. She has been a nursing home administrator since 1993, when she held her first administrative position at Gifford Elder Care in Randolph, a facility affiliated with Gifford Hospital. She has deep professional roots in central Vermont and has also lived here, in Northfield, for 33 years. Maureen has held administrative positions for CPL Sub-acute LLC, the parent company for Berlin Health and Rehab Center and Rowan Court Health and Rehab Center. She was also the administrator for the Brookside Nursing Home. “Woodridge has a great team already in place,” enthused Maureen. “I feel like I am coming home. Thirty years ago I worked at Central Vermont Hospital as assistant head nurse on 2 East. I am excited about working at Woodridge because it’s got a terrific reputation in the community and I like working with long term care patients. This work allows me to be involved in administration, ensure that patients/residents get the best care possible and have the opportunity to live in a beautiful setting. It doesn’t get much better then that. ” Woodridge is a not-for-profit 153-bed nursing facility which provides both long-term and short-term care to individuals needing nursing and rehabilitation services.
