Emergencies:
Although we are not a crisis center, we do try to schedule appointments for urgent situations as soon as possible. We have 24-hour physician coverage for our patients. After regular hours, our patients can be seen by the psychiatrist on call at Central Vermont Medical Center. This is done by calling the Behavioral Health Unit at 371-4316, or by going to the Emergency Department. You may or may not see your regular psychiatrist. Emergency service can also be obtained by dialing 911 or through the Washington County Mental Health Screeners at 229-0591.

Confidentiality:
Family Psychiatry Associates offers confidential services. No information is released without express written consent by our patients. Only in the case of an emergency or the disclosure of unreported abuse of a child, as mandated by state law, can information be given out without your permission. We are proud that our patients feel comfortable and secure with their treatment and of the bond they form with us.

Prescription Refills:
If appropriate, our office will call your pharmacy within 48 hours for all approved refills, Monday through Friday. You may have to come in to the office to pick up a written prescription. Please call during regular office hours for prescription refills. Some medications require an office visit before they can be refilled.

Fees:
Our practice requires payment at the time services are rendered. We will bill most insurance companies directly as a courtesy to our patients; however, payment is ultimately your responsibility. We do offer a Financial Assistance Plan for those who qualify.
Co-pays are due at time of service. If you do not pay at time of service, a $5.00 processing fee will be added to your account.
